A Little Bit About Me

I am an avid believer that yoga can be a catalyst to living a fulfilling life that embraces harmony between mind, body and spirit.

I practiced yoga on and off for 10 years, before I became a certified yoga instructor in the summer of 2011, taking Patrick Creelman’s Foundation to Teach (Pure Yoga Hong Kong). For those of you familiar with Patrick’s teaching, I was his student when he did Wild Lotus flow practices, before his more recent shifts into Alignment. I only clarify this as our teachings though rooted in similar beliefs, flourish in quite different practices.

I have twice sustained injuries that rendered me unable to run, dance, play sport for over a year. These experiences dramatically shifted my attitude towards my body, self-care, identity, what it means to be strong, what it means to be weak, what it is to struggle and what it is to have to reinvent oneself, one day at a time.

My teaching on the yoga mat is cultivated from my own self-practice and self-directed study. Everything I teach has played a part in my development not only as a yoga teacher, but also the person I am today.

In addition to being a yoga teacher, I have a myriad of selves that include being a competitive hockey player, a performer, a choreographer, a theatre director, and an artist. These all feed into how I create experiences for people, as well as bolster my ability at teaching from a very grounded place of experience and authenticity.

I am passionate about giving back to the community, and dedicated several years to community work with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, Spirit of Soccer as well as dance/yoga/football projects in Cambodia, Laos and Columbia. I strongly believe that sports and/or the arts can provide a platform for people to empower themselves as well as provide a medium through which social change can be instigated.

I am dedicated to creating engaging and evocative experiences for all,

so that we may all reclaim our bodies, stimulate our minds, awaken our hearts

and feed our souls.
